Total Lunar Eclipse

I’ve been up for about an hour now and I’m currently starring out up at our moon. It’s a full moon today, but now the moon has changed color in the night sky.

For the first time that I remember, we are having a full lunar eclipse with the best vantage point being west of the Rocky mountains in the United States.

I wanted to take a picture but I don’t have the correct equipment to really take a good picture.

We have hit the full lunar eclipse at this point at 3:38 am. The moon hasn’t left completely, but is a bright red disc. It’s the moon, but reddish. It’s only what I can imagine Mars would look like if it were closer to us.

It is a really nice sight. I only wish I could capture it on film. Maybe another time.
